Privacy Policy
Bira Events · Last updated September 12, 2026
Bira Events provides event organizers with an admin app and attendees with a web app (PWA) for event maps, lineups, community photos and feedback. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Attendees (web app)
- No account is required. We store your saved schedule, offline map data and pending feedback only on your device.
- Feedback surveys are optional. Name and email are only sent if you type them, and they are shared with the event organizer.
- Photos you share are uploaded to the organizer's photo wall, scanned automatically for unsafe content (Amazon Rekognition) and reviewed by organizers. Do not upload photos of people who have not agreed to appear.
- Likes and comments use an event-specific random identifier stored on your device. Names and comments you submit may appear publicly after moderation. Comment text is checked using OpenAI; organizers can review pending content.
- Location is optional. Precise GPS is used on your device to show your position near the venue. If you separately choose to share venue estimates, Bira stores the nearby map pin, a minute bucket, sampled duration, and an event-specific pseudonymous identifier. Precise GPS coordinates are not sent with these records. Sampling stops when the app is not in the foreground. You can stop location sharing from the map.
- Push notifications are sent only if you opt in; you can revoke them in your browser settings at any time.
- Usage analytics (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry) use device or account identifiers and interaction properties. Organizer accounts are identified by account ID, without adding their email or name to product analytics. Session replay is disabled. PostHog may derive approximate geography from network information.
Organizers (mobile app)
- We store your email and the events you create (Supabase, hosted in the United States).
- Schedule documents you upload for AI parsing are sent to OpenAI to extract set times for structured extraction.
- Logos and media are stored on Backblaze B2.
